Judith Mosoff Scholarship Fund:

The Judith Mosoff Scholarship Fund was created to honour the work and dedication of Judith Mosoff to include students with developmental disabilities in the mainstream of post-secondary education in BC. The fund was started by her family, with contributions from friends and colleagues and is awarded annually at high school convocations.

Judith was a parent, founding member and President of STEPS Forward Inclusive Post-Secondary Education Society, and its BC Initiative for Inclusive Post-secondary Education.  Judith Mosoff's biography can be read at:

The Judith Mosoff Scholarship provides financial support to students with developmental disabilities who wish to pursue an inclusive college or university pathway to adulthood in ways which are typical of other graduating high school students.  The scholarship is awarded in the form of a $500 - $1000 tuition voucher redeemable upon enrolment in post-secondary education. These students, by pursuing an inclusive and equitable post-secondary education, are engaging as fully included students in the mainstream of post-secondary, and by doing so are changing society's historical expectations about who belongs in post-secondary education. They are accessing the same opportunities available to any post-secondary student laying down a foundation to a good life.

Basic Eligibility Criteria

  1. Currently enrolled in High School and planning to attend graduation in the school year for which the scholarship is awarded
  2. Intends to enroll within 2 years at a college or university and be supported by inclusion staff from the BC Initiative for Inclusive Post-secondary education
  3. Is prepared to make a commitment to engage in course work, be active on campus in clubs, events, and activities while working towards earning a Certificate of Completion awarded by the institution they enroll in

Engagement & Inclusion Criteria

Applications will be selected on the basis of the students’ desire to be actively engaged with the larger school community through their inclusion in extracurricular activities and regular academic courses in one or more of the following areas of interest (examples of studies in brackets):
