2020 Symposium on Inclusive Post-Secondary Education - Impact of COVID-19
This symposium will follow an online open space/unconference format to explore and answer questions. Practitioners from across Canada, with more than 30 years or experience implementing fully inclusive models of inclusive post-secondary education at Universities, colleges and technical institutes will guide discussions and capture learnings.
Many universities are considering some form of hybrid course delivery for the Fall, which has significant impact on what inclusive post-secondary and student support will look like. In such a rapidly changing world no one really can predict what course delivery and student engagement will look like moving forward, but for now there is a certain urgency to figuring out for the Summer and Fall 2020 terms what we need to learn, create, and implement to support students to not be further marginalized and isolated, how to get the most out of their education, employment. and strengthen their connection to peers and others on campus.
We are inviting you to join us in these conversations and more on:
June 18th (Day 1): 9AM BC (12PM Ont) to 3:00PM (6:00PM Ont)
Effects of COVID-19 on PSE Delivery Models and Student Engagement During and Post Pandemic.
June 19th (Day 2): 9AM BC (12PM Ont) to 3:30PM (6:30PM Ont)
Topical discussions on practical and creative strategies for student learning and social engagement during these times. Day 2 sessions will be lead by a panel of facilitators from various campuses. Inclusion facilitators have identified topics which are crucial that we know more about to be able to provide meaningful inclusion support.
Location:
This year’s symposium will be held remotely with online conferencing through Zoom. The online conference and lunch rooms will be available closer to the symposium dates. If you are not familiar with using zoom, please contact lauren@steps-forward.org for additional information.
